Accepting what is

It’s common to spend a lot of our lives wishing we were feeling differently. Not wanting to feel stressed, sad, anxious, frustrated or resentful.

The problem is that not accepting how you feel makes you feel more worse. It’s sometimes called the ‘second arrow’ of suffering. The first arrow is the uncomfortable experience and the second arrow is your resistance to it.

The second arrow prolongs and intensifies the first.

In this meditation we practise accepting whatever is going on in the mind, body and emotions.

This is the key to resilience.
