Compassion meditation

We’re more likely to listen to and be open with people when we feel positively towards them.

There are three stages to this meditation. In the first stage, you focus on a colleague you like, and imagine wishing for them to be well, happy and free of suffering.

In the second stage, focus on yourself being well, happy and free of suffering.

Finally, you’ll bring to mind someone you work with who you don’t like, and try to do the same for them.

If you do this meditation regularly, you will notice the how you will feel more connected to and appreciative of the people around you, more confident in yourself, and more accepting of the people you don’t get on with.
